אורית חסון ולדר היא אמנית בינתחומית. עבודותיה עוסקות בסוגיות הנוגעות בביוגרפיה, זהות ומגדר, ובאופנים לספר סיפור. כבת למשפחה שמקורותיה בארצות ערב וחברון היא מטפלת דרך בניית סיטואציות המעלות זיכרון וטראומות בעבר המשפחתי הטעון. אורית מתמחה באמנות חברתית עכשווית ויוזמת פרויקטים אמנותיים בשיתוף קהילות מגוונות ביניהם בניית מאגר שיתופי לאמנות ערבית פלסטינית.
במייצבים, ציורים ורישומים שלה היא חוקרת מגבלות חושיות של ראייה ותפיסה, כמו גם את הקשר בין המדיום והשפה לבין מצבים פסיכולוגיים ודיסוציאטיביים. בעבודותיה נוכחים מעברים בין מצבי תודעה וזליגות בין צילום וציור.
אורית מרצה בפקולטה לאמנות במדרשה ובסמינר הקיבוצים. בעברה הייתה מבקרת אמנות, וכיום היא יועצת אמנותית לגלריית הלובי, ולפרויקטים עצמאיים ובוועד המנהל של מוזיאון פתח תקוה לאמנות. היא אצרה תערוכות רבות, ועד לאחרונה הייתה המנהלת והאוצרת של הסדנא לאמנות ברמת אליהו.
